New Dominion Section: HerStory

2022-2023 Programs and Activities

Community Service: The New Dominion Section of NCNW  implemented community outreach programs focused on the following service areas: Loudoun County, western Fairfax County, western Prince William County, and Fauquier County.

  • Fall 2022, NDS NCNW college care packages. 

 

  • October 2022, NDS participated in the Bethune Cookman Awards.  Three members were honorees.

 

  • November 2022, NDS sisters volunteered at the annual NOVA Project GiveBack by volunteering to do the Thanksgiving food box assembly.

 

  • December 2022, NDS members attended the NCNW 60th Convention in Washington, DC.

 

  • December 2022, NDS supported Prince William County’s Fostering Futures Teen/Young Adult Program by providing Walmart card donations.

 

  • January 2023, NDS participated in the 2023 Martin Luther King March in Leesburg Virginia.

 

  • February 2023, NDS donated meals to a support group for 25 women at The First Baptist Church of Warrenton.

 

  • June 2023,  NDS awarded scholarships to four African-American females.  Each recipient received a scholarship at an accredited college/university they are attending in the Fall 2023.

 

  • July – Fall 2023, NDS college care packages - we collect supplies and donations for college students (new and returning) within our service area that plan to attend a college in the Fall of 2023.

2023-2024 Programs and Activities

  • NDS Cares packages for the 2023 Fall Semester

  • November 18, 2023, the New Dominion Section of NCNW volunteered our services to Nova’s 29th Annual Project GiveBack Food Distribution. We also donated $250.00, to go towards helping the organization to positively impact Northern Virginia by delivering nutritious food boxes to deserving families.
